Okay P K Glitz fans! We have an awesome sketch for you this month.
Janelle (owner of P K Glitz) is very new to sketches and when I presented this card sketch to her she teasingly asked, “Do I have to use a chicken?” The answer is “No, and besides it’s a Love Bird”. Bottom line, the overall card is a pattern and you can insert a “heart” with a Valentine sentiment, a “flower” with a Happy Birthday sentiment, etc., etc., you get the idea. With that said, we will have a Sketch for you each month to play with. If you are a member of Club Glitz then you get a head start on this challenge.

*Use this card sketch to create a card or scrapbook page
*Post your final project on your blog and leave a comment on this post to a link where we can see it.

Supplies:
Adhesive (Sticky Tape; P K Glitz)
Anti-static Powder (P K Glitz)
E P Lite (Honeycomb; P K Glitz)
E P Max (Honeycomb; P K Glitz)
Glitter Glitz (Honeycomb, Crystal, White Pearl; P K Glitz)
WonderFilm (P K Glitz)
Acrylic Frame (Walmart)
Cardstock (Back to Basics; Bo Bunny)
Cardstock (Prism)
Die Cuts (Snowflake Wonder; Spellbinders)
Digital Designs (2010 Calendar; ksharonkdesigns, 2 Little Pixels)
Digital Designs (Warm Christmas; cherpea, 2 Little Pixels)
Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap; Ranger)
Embossing Ink (Inksenssials)
Embossing Machine (Epic 6; Quick Cutz)
Embossing Tool (Marvy)
Glue Pen —–
Snowflake Embossing Folder (Provo Craft)
Wooden Beads (Indus Trading)
Calendar Instructions:

Step 1: Run cardstock through embossing machine. Once the cardstock is embossed dust cardstock with Anti Static powder.
Step 2: Lightly swipe the embossing ink pad across the raised (embossed) areas of the cardstock.

Step 3: Pour E P Lite embossing powder onto the cardstock. The E P Lite will only stick to the areas that you have covered with embossing ink.
Note: E P Lite is a translucent glitter embossing powder. This means that the color underneath will show through. I chose E P Lite Honeycomb for my project because it was complimentary to the color of my cardstock.
Step 4: With your heat tool, heat the E P Lite to melt the embossing powder. When finished adhere it to your background cardstock.
Step 5: At this point, you can either purchase a store bought calendar or you can make your own as I did. I used a digital calendar and inserted my own picture. I then printed it out and placed it on a mat prior to adhering to my background.

Step 6: I used a die cuts to make my snowflakes and added glitter glitz to each of the flakes using my Quickie Glue Pen and Glitter Glitz.
I used Glitter Glitz Honeycomb, White Pearl, and Crystal.
Step 7: To make the feet, I rolled each wooden bead on my embossing ink pad then poured E P Max onto the bead. With the bead held by a wooden skewer I embossed each one before gluing to the bottom of my acrylic frame.
Pen Instructions:

Supplies:
Glitter Glitz (P K Glitz)
Sticky Tape (P K Glitz)
Coffee Filters
Pen
Plastic Drinking Straw
Scissors

Step 1: Remove the end cap from the pen along with the pen refill.
Step 2: Begin to wrap Sticky Tape around the end of the refill. Do this several times.

Step 3: As you can see, the Sticky Tape forms a gasket so that the glitter will not leak out through the end of the pen. Replace refill into pen barrel.
Step 4: Cut the end of the drinking straw at an angle to form a “scoop”.

Step 5: Pick up glitter using the scoop you just made
Step 6: With your pen refill placed back into the pen barrel, begin filling with glitter using the scoop.

Step 7: When the pen barrel is completely full, replace pen cap.
NOTE: You may want to use some Crystal Lacquer to glue the pen cap closed so their is no chance that the glitter could spill out.
These pens can be made using any of our 72 Glitter Glitz colors!
I hope you have enjoyed this Calendar and Pen project idea! If you make one of your own, send us a picture or link to where we can see it. You never know – you just might be featured on our blog!
