I often browse through the local dollar store looking for something that I can alter to make a great gift. I’m never disappointed! I usually find some sort of item that I can add my creative touch to. On my last “treasure hunt”, I came across some wooden boxes. I knew that I’d be able to do something with them, I just wasn’t sure what. If you saw my tutorial the other day on making “Tie Dyed” flowers, then you’ll remember that I told you that I had an altered project to share using the same technique.

A handmade card is just about the nicest thing that you can give to someone. It tells them that they’re special, and that you value them so much that you spent your time and creative efforts to make something just for them. Making a good card can be challenging, but with a little creativity and the right products you can make something that will leave your recipient wondering where you’ve been hiding that talent all these years!

You could take some paper, a flower and a stamp or two and create a pretty nice card…or, you could take it a step further by adding some sparkle and glitter and creating a card that says “WOW!”

For some reason ”titles” have become a huge part of scrapbook layouts. While I agree that titles can add a lot to your project, it can also be hindrance to your creativity. I know scrappers who agonize over picking the “perfect title” for their page, and sometimes it overpowers the process and takes away the fun. I’m a firm believer that the photo should always be the star of the page, and that everything else is just secondary. I think that the better the photo, the less “embellishment” you need to make it shine, and such is the case for this layout of my beautiful daughter, Audre.

Last year in October (I believe it was) I saw this adorable shoe pattern at Skip To My Lou. I could just imagine Cinderella going to the ball in this beautiful slipper dressed up in glitter.

I asked Cindy, from Skip To My Lou, if it were possible for us to use her pattern and she graciously consented. Of course, her version was during Halloween, but we want to see how you can use this pattern for a beautiful party or wedding favor. Check out the prize package along with the rules below but first, let’s take a look at what the P K Glitz designers created.

This time of year is when you get invited to Bridal showers and weddings and it always makes me think of my own daughters wedding so I had to pull out some photos and scrap them. It’s what we Moms do!

Stay tuned and I just might show you how I made those flowers.:)
