Q: You mentioned last month that there are some new glitter colors coming. Are they ready yet?
A: YES, they are! We have 6 new Pearls Glitter Glitz colors and 12 new Transparents Glitter Glitz colors! You can find them in the Store on the Glitter Glitz and purchase them in the Wheel 6-packs if you know you need them all! They are labeled as “Pearls”, “Transparents I” and “Transparents II”.
We’re adding a new section to our Talk Tuesdays! Our new Design Team members will be sharing tips and tutorials with you on their new experiences using our products! Our tutorial today is brought to you from Colleen. Great job Colleen!!
While I’m sure you’ve seen these little paper flowers, like the one on my card last week “A Friend“….I wanted to share with you how I made them! While they take a little time, they are super cute and can be made to match any project you are doing!! You’ll need to get your supplies ready before you start….so your shopping list should include: Ritzy Ditzy Glitz in your favorite color, Glitter Glitz in a matching color, Sheet music or other printed copy, scalloped punch, glue, brads, pretty flower centers and leaves, if you want them. Once you have all that…you’re ready to start!!
First: Punch out circles, I used scalloped vintage sheet music for mine but you could use, dictionary pages, your child’s old artwork, scrapbook scraps…..
Then: Spray lots, okay as much as you want, of Ritzy Ditzy Glitz, I used “Turquoise” on mine and the shimmer is really happy! Wait until dry.
Next: Put glue on the edges of the scallops and sprinkle with lots of Glitter Glitz, I used “Lagoon” on mine! Really, look at how pretty that pile of glitter looks!! As you can see in the photo, I pierce mine and do several at once!
This is what the edges look like all glittered…pretty huh?!
When the glitter has dried (I cheated and used a heat tool), you’re going to stack at least five on top of each other and and put a small brad in the center of each one.
Next, you’re going to crumple up each layer, carefully, pushing each layer toward the center of the flower….Guess what?…You’re almost done!
Add a pretty center, anything you like and if you want to add a leaf…do that too! Looky….now you have beautiful flowers to use on your next project!!!
This tutorial is my first tutorial ever! I hope it has been helpful to you and that you make lots of beautiful flowers! Please come back and show us the beautiful flowers you’ve made because we would LOVE to see yours! If you have any questions, helpful hints for more tutorials or need help with making your flowers…just let us know!!! Have Fun!! Hugs, Colleen
Hello Blog Readers! Andrea here with a couple “spring-y” cards for your viewing pleasure!
The first uses product from two of our Preferred Partners, Dazzling Reflections and My Stamp Box. The flowers are made using the Dazzling Reflection Kaleidoscope software. All I did was drop one of my pictures into the software then pick a template and voila! Instant kaleidoscope! The template that I used was square with an open center. The greeting is from the “Straightforward” set at My Stamp Box.
Supplies:
P K Glitz Amethyst E P Max
Ranger embossing ink

Q: I love the WonderFilm using Glitter Glitz and Embossing Powder. Is there anything else that I can use with the WonderFilm?
A: WonderFilm is great isn’t it?? The answer is YES, there are other mediums you can add to jazz up your WonderFilm creations! Check out the P K Glitz Website for a great slideshow using WonderFilm with Gold Leafing! We have Easter and Spring coming, so use colored flocking to add a super fun “fuzzy” look to flowers, bunnies and chicks! Need extra dimension? Use microbeads and a Glitter Glitz combo – stunning! Have fun and send us a link to your creations so that we can see the wonderful projects you complete using WonderFilm!
See you next week!
I’ve enjoyed working with our Preferred Partner products from My Stamp Box! So fun and full of versatility! The stamps range from classic to super fun and light. The stamps are clear and very easy to see where you’re stamping. The Birthday Balloons set has solid images which are perfect for heat embossing. Take a look at the card below and you’ll see what I mean! There are 12 stamps in the set, all with different designs. I found that the flower balloon wasn’t necessarily birthday themed, so I paired it with a sentiment from the Straightforward set. That set has 11 stamps, all sentiments in great fonts and sizes. It makes a simple card really stand out!
Supplies:
P K Glitz Honeycomb Powder Keg Embossing Powder
P K Glitz Honeycomb, Gilded Grape Leaf and Lemonade Glitter Glitz
P K Glitz Sticky Tape and Sticky Paper

Hello! As Tammy mentioned yesterday, we had a great response to our Design Team call and are busily going through the applications. In fact, we’ve been so busy, we’re done!
Janelle will posting our new members tomorrow, so come back for the BIG announcement!
For today, here is my introduction instead of our regular Talk Tuesday.
I am Andrea, living in South Florida, land of the beach and sunshine! I’ve crafted my whole life and have been stamping since 1997. I love to craft in many ways – ATCs, cards, scrapbook pages and anything altered. There’s nothing out there that can’t use some stamping or glitter in my opinion! Heat embossing has been a passion of mine for years which matches perfectly to my stamping interests.
I met Jim and Janelle Marshall (owners of P K Glitz) awhile back (maybe 2004 – do you remember Janelle?) at the Stampfest show in Clearwater, FL. I had used Powder Keg Embossing Powders for years due to the fantastic color combinations, so meeting the owners in person was exciting!
I have been published in several print and online magazines like Take Ten and Scrapbook News and Review. I also teach classes at my local scrapbook/stamp store and online. Crafting and the internet have allowed a creative side of me to emerge through the exchange of ideas. Isn’t it a great time to be technologically crafty?
How would you describe your style?
A range of styles is how I would describe the way I craft. I can be completely distressed and grunged or clean and simple. It really depends on my mood and project at hand.
What are your favorite colors to work with?
Black, white and red is my favorite color combination. I love working with bright colors ranging from blues to greens to reds also.
What do you like to do when you are not in your studio creating?
I love walking along the beach. I’m lucky that I live so close to the ocean! I truly love it.
Do you prefer to work on scrapbook projects or make cards?
Both! I’ve been making more cards lately due to time constraints, but scrapbook pages are so much fun that I love to create those also.
What is your favorite – P K Glitz embossing powder or Glitter Glitz?
Embossing powder is my passion with the Glitter Glitz a close second. Embossing powder adds that extra touch to any project, especially those using stamps. It’s classy while adding an air of “how’d you do that” to the piece.
I’ll share some recent projects with you, highlighting some of my favorite P K Glitz products.

Need a little glitz for your Springtime cards? Take a look and see how a little glitz goes a long way on a beautiful Springtime flower – a lily!
Do you use Flower Soft, that sponge-like particle stuff that comes in a bunch of colors? Well, sometimes you may find that the Flower Soft doesn’t quite get into the little nooks and crannies of your design. Why not shake on some glitter after the Flower Soft? The glitter will fill in the spots where the Flower Soft may not be able to get to!

P K Glitz Glitter Glitz in Crystal

Welcome to the next edition of “Talk Tuesdays“! Today is the day that we post answers to questions that we’ve received either in our blog comments, from the shows we attend or emails. Come back every week and you’ll find the answers to those questions!
Q: How do I keep WonderFilm on my sticky mat to feed into my cutting machine?
A: Removable tape works “wonders” on getting WonderFilm to stay put. You may want to go at a slower speed and watch it as it’s cutting.
Don’t forget! You can still see Janelle on a recent WBKO Midday TV episode! Just go to the right side of the page and search in the video links for “PK Glitz” and up will pop 2 videos with Janelle!
Here’s a quick project to get your juices flowing! I stamped and heat embossed the saying and image, followed a sketch from Mojo Monday and instant card! I used Sticky Tape and Powder Keg Embossing Powder for the straight lines behind the saying. The same 2 colors of Embossing Powder were used on the saying and image.
Don’t forget your stamps when you’re creating! The images used here are from our new Preferred Partner, My Stamp Box! The clear acrylic stamps come in sets and a CD case, isn’t that cool?
Supplies:
My Stamp Box clear stamps, Programmed Robots set
P K Glitz Sticky Tape and Powder Keg Embossing Powder (Red Hot Chili Pepper and E P Max Sapphire)
Spellbinders dies
Crate patterned papers
Ranger embossing ink
Mojo Monday sketch #124

Q: Has P K Glitz got anything new for Valentine’s Day?
A: Yes! Janelle has been at it again on T V! Check out the link to see the beautiful glitzy Valentine creations Janelle shares on WBKO Midday. Just go to the right side of the page and click the video links that say “Valentine Creation”. How fun is that??
Q: How about any new Glitter Glitz colors?
A: Have you been eavesdropping behind the scenes? Guess what??? It’s TRUE! There are new transparent Crystal colors and Pearls coming just around the corner! Stay tuned to the blog for the big product announcement very soon!

Here’s a question we answered last October that’s a great one to repeat.
Q: What is the difference between WonderFilm and Sticky Paper?
A: Wonder Film is a clear adhesive permanent bond film that sticks to almost any surface: glass, acrylic, paper mache, cardstock, wood and more! Sticky Paper is paper with adhesive only on one side allowing for instant dimension on a project. BOTH do not need sealing. BOTH can be heat embossed. BOTH can be die cut, punched or trimmed with scissors in any way.
