The holidays are now upon us so here is a quick little idea to turn an ordinary votive into something festive and fun!

Supplies Needed:
WonderFilm
Glitter Glitz
Goat Hair Brush
Small Spoon
Sticky Tape
Coffee Filters (optional)

Step 1:
Punch or die cut a leaf shape from your WonderFilm, then peel the protective covering from one side of the WonderFilm shape.
With the sticky side against the glass, place your leaf onto the votive.

Step 2:
With your image now on the votive, from one edge or corner, begin peeling off the protective covering. This will expose the adhesive in the shape of your die cut. Try not to touch the adhesive while working on this project.
To get a really nice looking fall leaf, I like to work with anywhere from 5 – 8 coordinating colors such as Chocolate, Pumpkin, Red Hot Chili Pepper, Buttered Rum, Gilded Grape Leaf, New England Autumn, Cinnabun,  and Egyptian Treasure

Step 3:
With your first color, begin to “sprinkle” the color along the bottom third of the leaf. Do this by holding the spoon about 1 – 2 inches above your project and tap the spoon with your index finger. This will give a light spray of color without harsh lines.
When you are finished with your first color, use your goat hair brush to gently wipe away excess glitter. Make sure you do not go across the adhesive as this will cause the glitter to be adhered to the entire leaf.
Continue with your second color as you did with your first. Do this with each color until your leaf is completed.

Step 4:
Once your leaf is complete, put a strip of Sticky Tape around the bottom of edge of the glass votive.
I am using 1/4 inch Sticky Tape.

Step 5:
Remove the protective covering from the Sticky Tape and begin sprinkling your first color of Glitter Glitz onto the Sticky Tape. Brush off excess before adding your second color. Continue doing this until the Sticky Tape is completely covered.

Here is your finished votive piece. On the left you will see the votive when it is not lit and on the right when the candle is lit. Both versions yield a beautiful accent to your holiday table or gathering!
