If you are like me, you have tons of brads but never in the color that you need. This is a quick little trick that will help you use up all of those extra brads that you have just laying around.
Tip 1: Powder Keg Embossing Powder

Step 1: Hold the tail of the brad with an alligator clip or clothes pin to avoid heating your fingers.
Step 2: Make sure your embossing tool is properly heated then place the top of the brad close to the end of the heat tool for about 15 seconds.
Step 3: Dip the heated brad into the colored embossing powder of your choice.
I used Powder Keg Gilded Grape Leaf

Your brad should be completely covered with embossing powder before proceeding with the following step.
Step 4: Hold the embossing tool below the brad and heat the head of the brad from the back side. It will only take 1 or 2 seconds of heat for the embossing powder to “light up” on the head of the brad. Once this happens, remove the heat tool quickly to avoid scorching or running of the embossing powder.

Here is your completed brad. What was once a plain and lifeless brad, is now a beautiful custom embellishment!
Tip 2: E P Max

Follow steps in the Powder Keg Embossing Powder technique only this time you will use E P Max.
I used E P Max Indigo

As you can see this bright pink brad is now a sparkly Indigo blue!
Tip 3: EP Lite

Sometimes you may just want to add a little sparkle to an already colored brad. For this technique you will want to use E P Lite in the color of your choice.
I used E P Lite Squash Blossom

As you can see, the color of the brad shows through while adding a touch of glitz using E P Lite Squash Blossom.
There you have it! Three different looks to one easy technique. What are you waiting for? Go get those unused brads and start customizing them for your next card or paper craft project!

Awsome!
